Dismantling of hangars and warehouses is one of the key areas of work of TERESHCHENKO Group of Companies. When Is Dismantling of a Hangar or Warehouse Needed?

Dismantling of warehouse buildings is carried out according to a pre-developed plan with sequential disassembly of structures. The most common reasons for demolition are:

• the need to relocate the hangar to a new site;
• the structure is outdated and no longer meets modern requirements;
• significant wear of individual parts of the building or an emergency condition;
• clearing the site for new construction;
• damage to structures caused by fire, shelling, or other emergency events.

Depending on the purpose, dismantling can be performed with preservation of the structures for reassembly or with complete disassembly of the building into scrap metal and recyclable materials. In each case, our specialists select the optimal work technology.

Warehouse Dismantling Technology

Regardless of the type of structure — arched or gable, insulated or “cold” — the works begin with an inspection of the facility, approval of the plan and cost estimate, site preparation, and safety measures. The main stages of dismantling are:

1. dismantling of the roof (usually profiled sheeting);
2. cutting of the steel frame elements;
3. dismantling of the building walls and foundation;
4. sorting of materials, removal of scrap metal and construction waste;
5. cleaning and grading of the territory.

If the materials are intended for reuse, manual disassembly is applied. Mechanized demolition is faster, but the likelihood of preserving building materials decreases — that is why the method is always agreed upon with the client.

What Is Needed for Dismantling Hangars and Warehouses?

• Specialized equipment — excavators with hydraulic shears and hydraulic breakers, loaders, dump trucks, lifts;
• Manual metalworking tools — for careful disassembly of structures;
• Experienced equipment operators and qualified workers;
• industrial climbers, if work at height is required.

Cost of Dismantling a Hangar or Warehouse

The price of dismantling depends on the chosen disassembly method, the area and type of structure, the volume of scrap metal and construction waste, as well as the conditions on site. The cost is also affected by the type of products stored in the hangar or warehouse: if hazardous substances were stored, the estimate includes the cost of personal protective equipment. Work at height is calculated separately.

Please note: in many cases, the cost of works is partially or fully offset by the scrap metal handed over and the processing of construction waste into recycled crushed stone.
